Moreton Island reopens for day trippers and overnight stays

Brisbane City Council wishes to advise Moreton Island will reopen to day trippers and overnight visitors from noon today (June 1).

This is due to the easing of State Government restrictions. Visitor access to Moreton Island was closed on 8 April at the direction of the State Government due to coronavirus.

Green, Mud and St Helena Islands remain accessible to the public.

Council encourages all visitors to follow the advice of authorities, and to continue practicing safe social distancing and hygiene.

As updates are available, they will be included on our Coronavirus: Council updates and impacts page. For more information phone Council on 07 3403 8888.

Brisbane City Council is working closely with the Australian Government and Queensland Health and are following their expert health advice to help minimise the transmission of coronavirus.
