About the project

The State Emergency Service (SES) provide vital assistance to our City during times of need and Council is committed to ensuring the service have facilities in which to train volunteers to assist our community.

In line with this commitment, Council redeveloped the former Colmslie RSL building to make it safe, accessible and fit for purpose for the SES to permanently use for training purposes.

In late 2016, Council undertook work to install new lighting surrounding the building and lower carpark. 

Further refurbishment works commenced in mid-July 2017 and were completed in November 2017. The works involved accessibility upgrades, security upgrades, a new shed and external and internal building refurbishment activities.

What are the benefits?

These works will increase the safety and accessibility of the building, making it fit for purpose for the SES.
