Terrorism | Brisbane City Council

Terrorism

Counter terrorism is a Federal Government matter that is managed locally by the Queensland Police Service. During a terrorist incident, government and non-government organisations each have a part to play in dealing with the situation (i.e. transport, police, ambulance, Red Cross, Lifeline etc).

Brisbane City Council’s primary responsibility and focus is on minimising the impact to residents and managing/restoring any service disruption. Council has a number of security measures and procedures in place to protect its assets and infrastructure and relevant staff participate regularly in training with other agencies.

To report suspected terrorist activity, call the National Security Hotline on 1800 123 400.
