Narrator: To really enjoy Brisbane, you need to get out and explore. Brisbane is a vibrant centre of entertainment, culture and sport, with a lively shopping and dining scene. Brisbane also has incredible parks and green spaces for outdoor activities. Here are some places where you can join in the fun.

If you like the arts, The Powerhouse in New Farm presents outstanding drama, music, cabaret, visual arts, film and comedy. The South Bank district is home to many arts venues including the Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum and Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The city’s leading artists hold exhibitions at Museum of Brisbane, or you can discover Brisbane’s proud Indigenous heritage at the bushland culture trails that showcase Aboriginal art in its natural setting.

If you like nature, there are hundreds of parks in Brisbane, including two Botanic Gardens. There are parks designed for picnics and barbecues, parks for dogs, and parks where you can marvel at nature. Parks can be booked for events, functions and weddings, with access to free Wi-Fi available in 22 parks. Council also provides public spaces which cater for the needs of all our residents through the provision of facilities such as all abilities playgrounds.

If you want a more active lifestyle, Council provides recreational facilities including golf courses, pools, tennis courts and skate parks. To stimulate your mind, Brisbane has 33 libraries offering a range of books, newspapers, magazines, CDs, DVDs, eBooks and AudioBooks, as well as computers, Xboxes and free Wi-Fi. Libraries also provide free events including seminars, workshops, author talks, computer classes and book club meetings. There are always plenty of things to do in Brisbane.
