Community Development and Capacity Building Grants
The Community Development and Capacity Building Grants provide funding to local not-for-profit groups to improve and develop services that respond to local and city-wide issues in Brisbane.
Projects that achieve one or more of the following criteria may be eligible for funding:
- to increase community identity and connections
- to increase social inclusion
- to build innovative and effective responses to emerging community needs and social issues
- to increase the skills, knowledge and understanding within the community sector to respond to community issues and need.
Funding amounts range from $2000 to $10,000.
Funding round dates
Applicants for the 2015-16 round have been notified of the outcome of their application in December 2015.
Applications for the 2016-17 round will open in November 2016.
An applicant should be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation.
An unincorporated not-for-profit organisation may also apply, under the auspices of an incorporated not-for-profit organisation able to accept legal and financial responsibility for the applicant’s project.
Applicants must operate within the Brisbane City Council Local Government Area (LGA).
Applicants must not have any overdue Council grant acquittals or outstanding debts with Council.
Acquittal reports for successful applicants
If your application is successful, you will be required to complete an online acquittal form within 12 months of grant approval notification.
Grant recipients with overdue acquittal reports are not eligible to apply for other Council grants.
