DESCRIPTION:<p dir="ltr">From the Ground Up is a five part workshop series on how to garden and grow plants sustainably. The methods and practices in the workshops are designed to restore and nurture the environment and to assist you in growing your garden harmoniously with nature. Each workshop is independent of the others and you do not need to attend them all.</p><p dir="ltr">This month’s workshop provides advice about combining plants and companion planting. Plants can be combined to be mutually beneficial to each other by providing natural pest repellent or fertiliser, acting as taste and growth improvers, or working as pollinator and beneficial insect attractants. The practical activity is making a take-home paper-pot garden using companion and seasonal plants.</p><p dir="ltr"><b><strong>Requirements: </strong></b>Please wear a hat and enclosed shoes; and bring a snack and keep cup or water bottle. This workshop is only available to participants 16 years of age or over.</p><p dir="ltr"><b><strong>Location: </strong></b>Meet at the Kitchen in the Garden.</p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>This workshop supports the Botanic Gardens' commitment to creating a plant loving community dedicated to putting the 'plant back into planet'.</em></i></p>
