DESCRIPTION:<p dir="ltr">Celebrate NAIDOC Week by joining First Nations artist Duane Doyle for an artist's talk and showcase of a new collaborative animation.</p><p dir="ltr">Come together online to celebrate NAIDOC Week with First Nations artist and arts facilitator Duane Doyle, as part of the accessible public programming for <i><em>AMPLIFY ME!</em></i>, currently showing in<a href="https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/events-arts-and-culture/art-and-culture/outdoor-gallery-and-public-art" target="_blank" dir="ltr"> Brisbane City Council's Outdoor Gallery.</a></p><p dir="ltr">Join Duane Doyle and <i><em>AMPLIFY ME! </em></i>curator, Nicole Crosswell, for a conversational deep dive into his practice, creative process and connection to Country.</p><p dir="ltr">During this special event, experience the premiere of Doyle's new work, <i><em>Endangered Species</em></i>, created in collaboration with animator, Helena Papageorgiou. Hear first-hand about the research behind the work, the stories embedded in the landscapes and animals depicted and how this project sits within his broader artistic journey.</p><p dir="ltr">An integral part of the story behind <i><em>Endangered Species </em></i>is Duane Doyle's unique didgeridoo. He will share the story of this instrument and, if we are lucky, we may hear the powerful healing sounds of him playing it – an experience that is both moving and truly memorable.</p><p dir="ltr">You are invited to reflect, listen and connect in this relaxed, accessible online gathering.
