DESCRIPTION:<p dir="ltr">Join Mike Gilmour, Queensland Wattle Association, on a guided walk through Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha to view wattles in blossom.</p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>What to do on a Brisbane Winter’s Day in the sun</em></i></p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>Try a walk amongst wattle blossoms that stun</em></i></p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>Sparking in the sunlight with their green and gold,</em></i></p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>For all in Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens to behold.</em></i></p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>Lambs Tails, Zig Zags, Silver Wattles, Golden Wattles in bloom,</em></i></p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>And more with buds ready to burst from the Winter gloom.</em></i></p><p dir="ltr"><i><em>Poem by Mike Gilmour</em></i>©</p><p dir="ltr">Come join Mike Gilmour, self-styled&nbsp;<i><em>Wattle Wag</em></i>&nbsp;of Queensland in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha to view the wattles in blossom on a guided walk.</p><p dir="ltr">Each walk will include a talk about varieties, the history of the wattle in Australia and Queensland, the importance of wattle as an Australian symbol plus some unusual facts and common myths.</p><p dir="ltr"><b><strong>Duration: </strong></b>Walks will run for approximately 1.5 hours.</p><p dir="ltr"><b><strong>Requirements:</strong></b>&nbsp;This walk includes moderate physical activity, including walking slightly longer distances, up gentle slopes and stairs or walking on some uneven surfaces. Some standing periods for explanations with limited seating.
