DESCRIPTION:<p>Kitchen and garden waste is a large portion of what many households throw into the home garbage bin. In this workshop we will teach you how to take these simple, free materials and turn them in to beautiful &ldquo;black gold&rdquo;.</p><p>Topics covered include &#39;what is compost&#39; and how it is made, the environmental benefits of composting, a basic compost recipe, hot vs. cold composting, worm farming, Bokashi, backyard chooks, common problems and remedies, applying compost for maximum return, compost and worm teas, plus much more.&nbsp;</p><p>Please wear a hat and enclosed shoes; and bring a keep cup or water bottle.</p><p>This workshop supports the Botanic Gardens&#39; commitment to creating a plant loving community dedicated to putting the plant back into planet.</p><p><strong>Note</strong>: This workshop is available only to participants 16 years of age or over.</p><p><strong>Location</strong>: Meet at the Kitchen in the Garden</p><p>For more information, <a href="mailto:BotGardensWorkshops@brisbane.qld.gov.au" target="_blank">send an email</a>.</p>
