Green Heart Teacher Professional Development Day | Brisbane City Council

Green Heart Teacher Professional Development Day

In June 2017, Council was proud to welcome 100 local teachers and educators to our Teacher Professional Development Day, hosted at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha.

Delegates gained valuable insights about environmental education and nature play from keynote speaker, Richard Louv, acclaimed author of Last Child in the Woods, and famous for coining the term 'Nature Deficit Disorder', and participated in their choice of interactive workshops connecting curriculum to real-life learning opportunities for science and sustainability through, Active School Travel, Waste Education, Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, Green Heart Schools, Environment Centres and more.
