Recreate Paper Fashion Show
Thanks for helping us celebrate National Recycling Week in style at the Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show in King George Square on Friday 13 November 2015. This paper-themed twilight market and paper fashion show was all about recognising Brisbane’s recycling efforts and inspiring even more recycling for a cleaner, greener city.
The event featured paper couture created by a collection of Brisbane’s best fashion designers, your favourite food trucks, free paper craft activities and handmade artisan wares at the BrisStyle Market stalls. Local bands from The QUBE Effect also played, including Golden Age of Ballooning, Holly Terrens and Quintessential Doll.
Presented by Brisbane City Council and VISY Recycling, this event was supported by our collection of Brisbane fashion designers, The Wintergarden, two of our 2014 Recycling Art Competition artists, Louise Lindgren and Hiroshi Uchida, and BrisStyle Markets.
If you missed the Recreate Paper Fashion Show, you can watch a video of the runway event. You can also see how Brisbane designers, businesses and residents came together to celebrate recycling at the event in a video on Council’s YouTube channel.
Let's get recycling sorted
Just like our Paper Fashion Show designers, try thinking about the paper, cardboard and other recyclable materials as resources, something that can be reused, recreated and recycled, rather than wasted in landfill. Find out more about recycling.
