Brisbane's Total Water Cycle Management Plan

""Brisbane's Total Water Cycle Management Plan (BTWCMP) will guide Brisbane City Council's management of our city's water resources. It includes all aspects of water management from stormwater harvesting to community education, flood management, regional collaboration, water sensitive urban design, alternative water use and waterway health.

The plan supports the vision, goals and outcomes of Council's WaterSmart Strategy and updates the strategy following the January 2011 floods, the releases of Council's Brisbane Economic Development Plan 2012-2031 and changes to the water sector.

The BTWCMP supports Brisbane's ongoing economic growth by helping it evolve into one of the world's top 10 lifestyle cities. The plan also informs Council's five-year Corporate Plan and Annual budget and helps guide Brisbane's water provider, Queensland Urban Utilities, in its operational planning through the Water Netserv Plan. As a Total Water Cycle Management Plan, it also meets the Queensland Government's legislative requirements under the Environmental Protection (Water) Policy (2009).

The BTWCMP was endorsed by both Queensland Urban Utilities and Brisbane City Council in June 2013.
