Summer reads at your local library

Readers of all ages and interests are invited to discover the hottest reads this summer with Brisbane City Council's Summer Reading program. It's free to participate! The program combines reading and library activities to encourage library members to experience the joy of reading over the summer holiday break.

Spend your summer reading in blissful solitude, or discover a love of reading together with your friends or family. 

Council's 33 librariesMobile Library and Pop-up Library will host the Summer Reading program from Saturday 9 December 2023 until Sunday 21 January 2024.

How the program works

  1. Register to participate in the Summer Reading program using our online form
  2. Visit your local library to collect a Summer Reading challenge card.
  3. Have your challenge card stamped by a library staff member at any Council library each time you complete a reading challenge.
  4. Complete all 6 reading challenges to enter the draw to win a book voucher.
