Summer Reading in Brisbane Libraries
Brisbane City Council libraries' Summer Reading program combines reading and library activities to help kids experience the joy of reading over the school holiday break, as well as keeping them on track for the new school year.
Council's 33 libraries host the Summer Reading program annually from December until January. It is open to children aged 12 years and younger.
By participating in the program, kids collect stickers over the summer to complete a Summer Reading pocket book. They are eligible for a sticker (issued by a Council library staff member):
- each time they attend a Summer Reading event; or
- finish reading a book
Children who complete their pocket book are eligible for a prize as a reward for effort.
