World War II Signature Wall

The City Hall Signature Wall was discovered in October 2008. Over 150 signatures from World War II (WWII) veterans were uncovered as Brisbane City Council restored the basement of City Hall. The wall is part of the overall City Hall heritage listing on Queensland Heritage Register and the Brisbane City Council Heritage Register.

Soldiers scrawled everything from their names, service numbers and amusing mottos on the wall which at the time, sat above the men's urinal.

These names have been researched and documented by Lyris Mitchell, a former City Hall Tour Guide.
