Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan

Brisbane City Council is commencing work on the Enoggera Creek Sport and Recreation Precinct Plan. The precinct in Windsor, Wilston and Newmarket is home to 10 parks and 11 sporting and community organisations. The precinct plays an important role in providing lifestyle and leisure opportunities for the community to enjoy.

We're committed to creating more to see and do in a clean and green Brisbane. Every day, Council works with residents and local communities to help make our city what it is today with a long-term vision for the future.

About the project

The Enoggera Creek sport and recreation precinct is a valuable active green space in a growing city that offers many active and healthy outcomes to the community.

The precinct plan will guide future investment, development and management of this popular sport and recreation precinct. The plan will also include the design of a new sports and community park along Northey Street in Windsor.

The Lord Mayor unveiled plans for this new park in the 2018-19 budget, and Council wants to hear your views on what you would like to see in this space.

Future planning will help ensure the ongoing vibrancy and sustainability of the precinct for sport and recreation participants, local residents, businesses and visitors while managing residential amenity for people living in the suburbs surrounding these parks.

Community feedback received in 2016 will also help inform key features of the plan. There are no proposed changes to the Northey Street City Farm as part of this precinct plan.

To deliver the project, Council will:

  • investigate and provide feedback on the community’s vision
  • develop concept plan ideas
  • release draft concept plans for community feedback
  • finalise a concept plan following further community consultation and feedback.

Council acknowledges the Australian Government’s commitment to the plan through the Community Development Grants Programme.
