Telegraph Road landfill, Bill Brown Sports Reserve - Fitzgibbon
Brisbane City Council has commenced closed landfill remediation works at Bill Brown Sports Reserve, Fitzgibbon. The project will be completed in early 2017, weather permitting.

About the project
The project will involve:
- survey works
- pre-construction dewatering
- tree clearing
- installation of leachate network connected to sewer
- earthworks to compact waste
- upgrading the capping layer to seal the area
- reinstating a grassed public open space area for community use.
Impacts during construction
For the safety of park users, the Reserve will be closed and the project area fenced off during construction.
Construction activities will generally be carried out between 7am and 5pm Monday to Saturday. Council will work diligently to minimise construction impacts. However, properties in close proximity to works may experience noise impacts and low levels of vibration.
No changed traffic conditions are expected as a result of this project. However, traffic controllers will be on-site when required during construction to ensure a safe road environment for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
