Latest update | Construction commencing mid-May |
Queen Street Mall Irrigation Upgrade works are expected to start in mid-May 2021 and will be completed in mid-June 2021.
Works will commence in the middle of the mall near H&M tenancy and will involve cutting pavers and excavation. There will be a fenced work area.
Construction will take place between 7pm and 5am, Monday to Thursday, with the noisiest works completed by 1am. Occasional Sunday works will be required. These works will be undertaken at night when use of the mall is lowest and most businesses are closed to ensure public safety and to minimise disruptions as much as possible. Access into and through the mall will be maintained at all times for the public and for permit holders.
Integration
Council is also undertaking safety improvements in the Queen Street Mall. Both projects will be integrated to reduce the impact on the community. Please visit the Queen Street Mall safety improvements project page on Council’s website for further information.
