About the project

Council is installing public safety devices in key locations around the city to help separate the roadway and pedestrians. These works will start in the Brunswick Street Mall in late May 2021 and are expected to be completed in late 2021.

The works in the Brunswick Street Mall will start at the Ann Street end before progressing to the Wickham Street end of the mall.

Construction will take place between 7pm and 5am, Monday to Thursday, with the noisiest works completed by 1am. Occasional Sunday works will be required.

Impacts during construction

Residents and businesses in close proximity to the works may experience some noise and dust generated from the installation activities. Please be assured that Council will use environmental controls and make every effort to minimise disruptions during these works.

We thank you for your patience while we complete these important safety works.

Access will be maintained through the Brunswick Street Mall, to local businesses, public transport and events throughout construction.
