Road closures for filming

Brisbane City Council supports use of the road network for filming, provided impacts on traffic can be efficiently managed and public safety is not compromised. Find out the assessment timeframes for different types of road closure impacts and how to apply.

Road closure impacts and timeframes

You need to consider the impact of your proposed road closure and plan ahead to allow Council time to assess your application.

You will need to lodge a:

  • Temporary Road Closure Certificate of Assessment (with Council)
  • Application for General Permit (Road Closure) (with Queensland Police).

Once Council's Temporary Road Closure Certificate of Assessment is issued, Queensland Police must issue their road consent. This is for all road use.

The following table outlines the different levels of impact and the timeframe Council requires.
