Footpath Dining Local Law

Brisbane City Council monitors the standard of operations in food premises that provide footpath dining. Council's Footpath Dining Local Law 2011 regulates outdoor dining to ensure the safety of diners and pedestrians.

The local law provides clarity in regulating footpath dining, including:

  • greater transparency to businesses about regulatory processes and outcomes
  • reducing red tape for licensing and approvals
  • making applying for permits easier by streamlining application assessments.
