On 22 August 2017, Council approved the development of an indoor extreme sports centre at 370 Nudgee Road, Hendra.

The development will convert an empty warehouse building at the Brisbane Gate Industrial Park into a one-of-a-kind indoor snow sports and adventure facility featuring ski slopes, snowboarding, a ninja course, ice skating, trampolining and laser tag.

The 6647m² development will attract up to 300 patrons per hour with 30 employees, operating between 6am and 11pm, 7 days a week.

The facility is a first for Brisbane and Queensland, sporting the state’s only indoor ski slope and terrain park and the state’s largest ninja course. The applicant has engaged brand ambassadors Jacqui Cooper (Olympic skier) and Lachlan Fyfe (Australian Ninja Warrior competitor) to help implement and promote the new activities.

The selection of innovative activities housed under the one building will contribute to the Brisbane Vision 2031 for a New World City. The centre will also provide the local community with a new range of active lifestyle and leisure opportunities available to people of different age groups and skill levels.
