New development assessment services

Development Services commitment to our customers will continue to strengthen through the introduction of new services from 1 July 2018. These services will see Council work more closely with our customers, prior to the formal lodgement of a development application.

The first service relates to the pre-assessment of technical reports. Submitting a technical report to Council for pre-assessment enables the review of aspects that may hinder the assessment of an application as early as possible. This early assessment can identify where changes may need to be made and enables planning consultants to adjust plans to ensure they meet the requirements of Brisbane City Plan 2014 before the application is lodged. This service will save both time and money for consultants.

The second service is for a RiskSMART request for written information. This service does not attract the RiskSMART discount and is charged for requests received to determine the suitability of an application to be lodged through RiskSMART. Fees for this service will commence from 1 September 2018.

The 2018-19 Development Services fees and charges brochure is now available on Council's website.

The implementation of these services are key outcomes of the Planning Act Innovation Project. The Planning Act Innovation Project is an initiative of the Queensland Government.
