In 2017, Council is continuing to work with the community on proposed neighbourhood plans and citywide amendments as part of our vision for a liveable and efficiently serviced city.
This includes work on draft strategies for The Gap, Kangaroo Point Peninsula and Banyo-Northgate. We have prepared draft neighbourhood plans for Newstead North and Spring Hill (both open for public notification until Tuesday 6 June) and Ferny Grove-Upper Kedron, which is open for submissions until 14 July.
Late last year Council endorsed a draft Local Government Infrastructure Plan and Major amendment for long term infrastructure and forwarded these for State Interest Review, with the public notification period expected in mid 2017.
Council is also preparing a number of other citywide amendments to ensure City Plan remains up-to-date and effective, including amendments in relation to biodiversity, pre-1911 buildings, and retirement and aged care facilities. Council is accepting submissions on biodiversity and pre-1911 buildings until Tuesday 6 June.
