Plan Your Brisbane - Accessible version
Brisbane is a great place to live, work and relax. It’s no wonder our city is growing, with more people than ever wanting to call Brisbane home.
By 2041, Brisbane will need to cater for an extra 386,000 residents. That’s more than 1000 people moving to Brisbane each month. Source: Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Regional Plan 2017
We’ve spoken with thousands of people across the city to understand what residents love most about Brisbane.
Plan Your Brisbane is about helping you to understand the challenges ahead and then giving you the opportunity to have your say on Brisbane’s next chapter. Your input will inform a Charter of Principles that will help guide decisions and make sure our city thrives as a friendly and liveable place for future generations.
Understanding the trade-offs
When growth is managed well, it means more housing choices, better services, more jobs, new lifestyle opportunities and access to more greenspace.
Some of these choices involve trade-offs and decisions about priorities, such as: Lifestyle, Travel Time, Greenspace and Affordability.
With so many people wanting to call Brisbane home, housing them all while considering the outcomes that are important to all of us can be complex. It’s all part of a genuine conversation about the trade-offs and priorities we need to think about when it comes to planning our city. By having your say, you’re helping us develop a Charter of Principles that will guide Brisbane’s future.
Together, we can make sure growth is managed well, with more housing choices, better services, more jobs, new lifestyle opportunities and access to more greenspace.
