Residential zones in the Norman Park area

Brisbane City Council conducted a survey regarding changes to residential zoning in Norman Park, in an area generally bounded by Agnew Street, Norman Avenue, Wynnum Road and the Cleveland railway line.

Property owners were invited to provide feedback to determine the level of support for, or opposition to, changing the zone in the identified area in Norman Park to either Character residential (Character) or Character residential (Infill) to provide additional protection for traditional character housing in the area.

The survey was undertaken from 29 September 2017 to 30 October 2017.

Survey results

To progress a zoning change, at least 50 per cent of property owners in the identified area were required to respond, with at least 70 per cent of respondents in support of one zoning option.

Following analysis of the results, Council did not receive sufficient response (46.3 per cent) to progress a change to one of the character residential zoning options. As a result, the existing zones will be retained.
