Guided walks

Take a free volunteer guided walk to learn about the plants and features of the City Botanic Gardens. Walks are taken at a gentle pace for about one hour.

Christmas season break

The City Botanic Gardens Volunteer Guides will not be guiding at 11 am or 1 pm from Sunday 2nd December 2018, due to their Christmas season break.

Guided tours of the City Botanic Gardens and Visitor Information provided by the Volunteer Guides at the Rotunda will re-commence on Tuesday 29th January 2019.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Walk information and bookings

Walks leave Monday-Saturday from the Rotunda at 11am and 1pm. Walks are not available on public holidays or Sundays.

It is not necessary for individuals or small groups to book these walks. Large groups or groups with a special interest can make a booking for a customised tour by phoning 07 3403 2535.

Becoming a volunteer guide

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens' volunteer guides are a group of people from all walks of life. They share knowledge and enthusiasm for the plant collections of the gardens.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer guide, phone 07 3403 2531 Monday to Friday to speak with the Volunteer Guide Officer. Alternatively you can email the Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha to indicate your interest in becoming a volunteer guide.
