Wynnum Central Beach Volleyball

Sporting fun and excitement returns to Brisbane’s bayside this year as the historic Wynnum wading pool is transformed into beach volleyball courts from June to August.

Residents from across Brisbane, including schools and community groups are invited to enjoy the courts for free, and take advantage of the chance to compete alongside elite beach volleyball players at Brisbane’s newest sporting arena.

The Wynnum Central Beach Volleyball is one of the ways Council is creating exciting lifestyle and leisure opportunities and delivering support to the local business economy.


The volleyball courts are available to play for free, from 7 July to 19 August 2018. Bookings are essential.

After this date, the Wynnum Wading Pool will be returned to normal operations for the summer season.  

Opening hours

The volleyball court will be open during school holidays from Saturday 7 July - Sunday 15 July at the following times:

Monday-Sunday 11am-3pm

From Monday 16 July - Sunday 19 August opening times are as follows:

Monday-Friday By appointment
Saturday-Sunday 11am-3pm

Parking and transport

The volleyball courts are located at Wynnum Wading Pool, 173 Wynnum Esplanade Wynnum.

There is on street parking available, a small car park near the Wynnum Wading Pool and a larger car park at Pandanus Beach.

There are nearby bus stops on Wynnum Esplanade and the nearest train station is Wynnum Central. To plan your trip visit Translink
