Comedy central

Good humour is no joke for Brisbane. Since 2009 the Brisbane Comedy Festival has provided barrels of laughs, and this year’s line-up promises to tickle your funny bone once again. More than 70 of the funniest comedians will grace the stage at five venues across the city from 22 February to 24 March. There’s something for all ages, so make sure to check out the event guide to plan your giggles and avoid missing out!

Look out for the February edition of Living in Brisbane for the chance to win free tickets to Australia’s fastest growing comedy festival.

Disclaimer: Research shows you shouldn’t laugh on an empty stomach, so whether you’re getting your comedy fix at Brisbane Powerhouse, City Hall or SunPAC, check out the local food scene before the show!

Culture corner

Love cultural events? You’ll be in your element this month, with the BrisAsia Festival returning with 100 events over three jam-packed weeks. Check out our guide to the best of BrisAsia.

Gathering 2019 is another Brisbane event you won’t want to miss. Showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performances, it’s the only Indigenous Performance Program in Australia running weekly in the heart of a major capital city.

If anything’s going to get you out of bed early on the weekend, let it be one of the incredible markets Brisbane has to offer. With the promise of the yummiest coffee, freshest produce and original giftwares, you’ll come away with a full tum at the very least.

If you can’t decide ‘where’, jump on a CityCat, cross the river, wander through all of them!
