St Lucia Community Hall refurbishment
Brisbane City Council is pleased to announce that works to revitalise the St Lucia Community Hall at Ironside Park on Guilfoyle Street in St Lucia have been completed.

About the project
Works to the St Lucia Community Hall started in June 2018 and involved accessibility upgrades and refurbishment works to the interior and exterior of the building, including amenity upgrades.
This project is part of Council’s commitment to creating new lifestyle and leisure opportunities for residents and community groups, and support Council’s Brisbane Vision 2031 for an accessible and inclusive city. As part of this commitment, Council is working to enhance community access to facilities that support community participation.
Works completed at the St Lucia Community Hall included:
- upgrading existing entry and exit points, including a new concrete egress ramp to improve side access to the building
- reconstructing the entry stairs
- upgrading lighting facilities
- repainting the interior
- expanding the kitchen area and refurbishing with new fixtures and non-slip vinyl
Facilities upgraded are in line with Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) standards and legislative requirements for disability access.
The St Lucia Community Hall is now available for casual hire and regular bookings. If you are interested in using the hall, please contact Council’s Community Halls office on 07 3407 0811, Monday to Friday between 8am and 4.30pm.
