>> KRISTY: Hi everybody, and welcome to West End Library. My name is Kristy and today I'll be doing a Baby, Books and Rhymes session with you. So to start off today we are going to do our Acknowledgement to Country, which is up here. Ready?

Here is the land, here is the sky, here are my friends, and here am I.

We'll do that one more time. You ready?

Here is the land, here is the sky, here are my friends, and here am I.

Well done everybody. Now, I do have a First 5 Forever message. The more you read sing and talk with your baby, the more they'll understand about language and words. So, try and make rhymes, song and reading books part of your everyday routine.

Okay, now before we get started with our songs, it's very important at the moment that we need to wash our hands. So let's sing our washing hands song. You ready?

[Singing] This is the way we wash our hands, wash our hands, wash our hands,
This is the way we wash our hands, so early in the morning.

Hmm, do they look clean to you? No, let's do it one more time. You ready?

[Singing] This is the way we wash our hands, wash our hands, wash our hands,
This is the way we wash our hands, so early in the morning.

That’s much better.  Alrighty, so first off we are going to start with some tickling songs. So we are going to do 'Round and round the garden'.  You've got a little hand ready? We'll do that.

[Singing] Round and round the garden, like a teddy bear.
One step, two step, tickle under there.

Now on the tummy.

 [Singing] Round and round the haystack went the little mouse.
One step, two step into his little house.

And on top of the head.

[Signing] Round and round the light house, up the spiral stairs.
One step, two step and way up in the air.

That was fun. Shall we do it again? This time on the other hand. Here we go.

 [Singing] Round and round the garden, like a teddy bear.
One step, two step, tickle under there.

On the tummy again.

 [Singing] Round and round the haystack went the little mouse.
One step, two step into his little house.

And on top of the head.

 [Singing] Round and round the lighthouse, up the spiral stairs.
One step, two step and way up in the air.

Alright, we are going to do another tickling song. This time it's 'This little piggy went to market'. And we are going to use your little feet this time. Right, you ready?

[Singing] This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
And this little piggy had none;
And this little piggy went wee, wee, wee, all the way home.

Alrighty, we'll do that one more time. This time we'll use the other little foot. You ready?

[Singing] This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
And this little piggy had none;
And this little piggy went wee, wee, wee, all the way home.

Okay, now we are going to do some body awareness. So if you'd like to put bubby in a laying down position, so they can look and see your face, and we are going to do 'My hands are clapping'. Now this one is a really good song all you have to do is follow the instructions of the song. You ready?

[Singing] My hands are clapping, clapping, clapping
My hands are clapping, just like this.

My feet are stamping, stamping, stamping
My feet are stamping, just like this.

My hands are shaking, shaking, shaking
My hands are shaking, just like this.

 My head is nodding, nodding, nodding
My head is nodding, just like this.

 My hips are wiggling, wiggling, wiggling
My hips are wiggling, just like this.

That was a good one, wasn't it? Alright, shall we do it again? You ready with your clapping hands?

[Singing] My hands are clapping, clapping, clapping
My hands are clapping, just like this.

My feet are stamping, stamping, stamping
My feet are stamping, just like this.

My hands are shaking, shaking, shaking
My hands are shaking, just like this.

My head is nodding, nodding, nodding
My head is nodding, just like this.

 My hips are wiggling, wiggling, wiggling
My hips are wiggling, just like this.

Good job everybody. Alright, we are going to do one of my personal favourite songs now. We are going to do "Open shut them". Okay are we ready, we've got our open shut them hands ready?

[Singing] Open shut them, Open shut them, Give a little clap
 Open shut them, Open shut them, Lay them in your lap.

 Creep them, creep them; Creep them, creep them; Right up to your chin,
 Open wide your little mouth, But do not let them in!

 Shake them, shake them, Shake them, shake them, shake them just like this.
 Roll them, roll them, Roll them, roll them, blow a little kiss.

That was beautiful, I love the little kisses at the end. Shall we do it one more time? You ready? Got our open shut them hands ready?

[Singing] Open shut them, Open shut them, Give a little clap
 Open shut them, Open shut them, Lay them in your lap.

 Creep them, creep them; Creep them, creep them; Right up to your chin,
 Open wide your little mouth, But do not let them in!

 Shake them, shake them, Shake them, shake them, shake them just like this.
 Roll them, roll them, Roll them, roll them, blow a little kiss.

That was so good, well done. Alrighty now we are going to move on to some lap songs, so if you like to move bubba back into a sitting position on while sitting on your lap. We are going to do 'I am a little sail ship'. So I am a little sail, sorry sailboat. I am a little sailboat that starts with some slow rocking from side to side. Then we do rowboat where we go back and forth. And then we do a motorboat where we gently bounce.  Okay, are we ready?

[Singing] I am a little sailboat,  a sailboat, a sailboat;
I am a little sailboat, I sail across the sea.

 I am a little rowboat,  a rowboat, a rowboat;
I am a little rowboat, I row across the sea.

 I am a little motorboat,  motorboat, motorboat;
I am a little motorboat, I race across the sea

Woo!

That one was good wasn't it? Alrighty back to our nice slow sailing, ready?

[Singing] I am a little sailboat,  a sailboat, a sailboat;
I am a little sailboat, I sail across the sea.

 I am a little rowboat,  a rowboat, a rowboat;
I am a little rowboat, I row across the sea.

 I am a little motorboat,  motorboat, motorboat;
I am a little motorboat, I race across the sea

Woo!

Alrighty, did you enjoy that one? Yeah? Alrighty, well I've got another little song about a boat. We are going to do 'Row, row your boat' this time. So we are going to do our normal row, row your boat gently down the stream, and with our crocodile, but we also do row your boat gently down the river if you see a polar bear don't forget to shiver. And row your boat gently to the shore if you see a lion don't forget to roar. You ready? Here we go.

[Singing] Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream;
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream; if you see a crocodile,
Don't forget to scream! Ahhhhh!

Alright down the river.

Row, row, row your boat, gently down the river;
If you see a polar bear, don't forget to shiver. Brrrr.

Alright to the shore, you ready?

Row, row, row your boat, gently to the shore,
if you see a lion, don't forget to roar
. Roar!

That was very scary roaring – good job. Alrighty, we are going to do another song with little crocodiles. This one might be new to you, so we are doing 'Baby crocodile'. So we've got Baby crocodile, Mummy crocodile, and Daddy crocodile. Ready?

[Singing] Baby crocodile, Baby crocodile,
don't you bite, don't you bite,
I can run away from you, I can run away from you,
out of site, BOO!
 Out of site, BOO!

See easy one, now we are going do Mummy crocodile. Can you show Mummy crocodiles ready?

[Singing] Mummy crocodile, Mummy crocodile,
don't you bite, don't you bite,
I can run away from you,  I can run away from you,
Out of site, BOO!
 Out of site, BOO!

Alright, one more we've got to do big Daddy crocodile. You ready? Big Daddy crocodile hands.

[Singing] Daddy crocodile, Daddy crocodile,
don't you bite, don't you bite; I can run away from you,
I can run away from you,
Out of site, BOO!
 Out of site, BOO!

Alrighty, for my next song I'm going to need a little help. This is a little...Can anyone tell me what it is? It's a frog, and we all know frogs go galumph, don't they? So we are going to sing 'Galumph' now, you ready? Got your Galumph hands ready?

[Singing] Galumph, went the little green frog one day,
Galumph, went the little green frog.
Galumph, went the little green frog one day,
They all went galumph, galumph, galumph.

But we all know frogs go la de da de da,  La de da de da, la de da de da,
We all know frogs go la de da de da,
They don't go galumph, galumph, galumph.

That was good, wasn't it? Shall we have our little friend help us out, sing it again? I think so. Ready? Galumph hands ready.

Wonderful, very good everybody. We are going to say goodbye to our little friend now. Bye little froggy. And actually, that is the end of our time together too. So we are going to sing a goodbye song now. So we are going to do 'If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands'. You ready?

[Singing] If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you’re happy and you know it, then you really ought to show it.
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.

If you’re happy and you know it, stamp your feet.
Stamp, stamp. If you’re happy and you know it, stamp your feet.
Stamp, stamp
. If you’re happy and you know it, then you really ought to show it,
If you’re happy and you know it, stamp your feet. Stamp, stamp.

If you’re happy and you know it, shout hooray. HOORAY!
If you’re happy and you know it, shout hooray. HOORAY!
If you’re happy and you know it, then you really ought to show it.
If you’re happy and you know it, shout hooray. HOORAY!

If you’re happy and you know it, wave bye bye. Bye bye!
If you’re happy and you know it wave bye bye. Bye bye!
If you’re happy and you know it, then you really ought to show it
If you’re happy and you know it, wave bye bye. Bye bye!

We'll see you next time at West End. Bye.
