>> VIRGINIA: Hi everyone at home, welcome to our babies session.  I’m Virginia.

>> HEATHER: Hello, and I’m Heather and we’re from Carindale Library.

>> VIRGINIA:  We’re missing you so much at the library. We know you can’t come in to see us, but we hope you can still enjoy some songs with us today.  We are going to start.

>> HEATHER: Let’s start with our children’s Acknowledgement to Country shall we. We all know it. Here we go.

>> TOGETHER: Here is the ground, here is the sky, here are my friends, and here am I.

>> VIRGINIA: Now we are going through a very special time so we have got a special wash your hands song to sing today. Would you like to learn it with us? Here we go.

>> TOGETHER [singing to the tune of Baby Shark]: Wash your hands doo doo doo doo doo doo.
Wash your hands doo doo doo doo doo doo.
Wash your hands doo doo doo doo doo doo.
Wash your hands.

>> TOGETHER [singing to the tune of Baby Shark]: Wash your hands doo doo doo doo doo doo.
Wash your hands doo doo doo doo doo doo.
Wash your hands doo doo doo doo doo doo.
Wash your hands.

>> HEATHER: Give them a shake out too…shake them.

>> VIRGINIA: Dry them off.

>> HEATHER: There we go nice and dry!

>> VIRGINIA: Nice and clean and dry.

>> HEATHER: Now we can start singing some lovely songs.

>> VIRGINIA: Ok mums, make sure you’ve got your baby in a nice comfy position. If they can see your face, they’ll probably learn a lot more because they’re seeing your facial expressions and seeing how your mouth moves to make the words.  Going to learn very fast that way. What’s our first rhyme Heather?

>> HEATHER: Shall we sing 'Round and Round the Garden'? We all know that one.

>> VIRGINIA: Love too.  Here we go.

>> TOGETHER: Round and round the garden, like a teddy bear.
One step, two step tickily under there.

>> TOGETHER: Round and round the haystack, went the little mouse.
One step, two step into his little house.

>> TOGETHER: Round and round the lighthouse, up the spiral stairs.
One step, two step and right up in the air.

>> VIRGINIA: Oh that’s a fun way to start.

>> HEATHER: That’s lovely. I got a few little birdies here, do you have any birdies?

>> VIRGINIA: Birdies…I’ve got two.

>> HEATHER: Let’s have a look.

>> VIRGINIA: I have got my friend Peter and I’ve got my friend Paul.  I’ve got two little birdies.  Here we go.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Two little birdies sitting on a wall, one named Peter one named Paul.
Fly away Peter, fly away Paul, come back Peter, come back Paul.

>> VIRGINIA: Here they go, off for another day…bye.

>> HEATHER: Do you have any bees Virginia?

>> VIRGINIA: Bees?  Let me see?  Ah Heather I’ve got one…I’ve got two…I’ve got three!

>> HEATHER: I’ve got four and I’ve got five here we go.  Hide them away buzz buzz buzz some buzzing hide them away.

>> VIRGINIA: To the beehive.

>> TOGETHER: Here is the beehive, where are the bees?
Hidden inside where nobody sees.
Watch them come creeping, out of the hive.
One, two, three, four, five buzzzzzzzzzzz!

>> HEATHER: Buzzy bees do a little tickle.

>> VIRGINIA: Oh they always give us a tickle at the end.  That was quite nice wasn’t it, put them away.

>> HEATHER: You’ve got a special song haven’t you?

>> VIRGINIA: I’ve got a special song. It’s a surprise. It’s 'Jack in his Box'. Let’s start out quietly because we’re going to give our babies a surprise up in the air. We love this one.

>> TOGETHER: Jack is quiet down in his box until somebody opens the lid.
Jack in the box jumps up,
Jack in the box jumps down.
Jack in the box turns round and round, and then he falls on the ground.

>> VIRGINIA: We have to do it again it’s too much fun.

>> TOGETHER: Jack is quiet down in his box until somebody opens the lid.
Jack in the box jumps up,
Jack in the box jumps down.
Jack in the box turns round and round, and then he falls on the ground.

>> VIRGINIA: We can do that again maybe sometime later.

>> HEATHER: Let’s do a slowly, slowly and do a little snail creeping up. That’s another tickly one we can do.

>> TOGETHER: Slowly, slowly very slowly, creeps the garden snail.
Slowly, slowly very slowly, up the wooden rail.
Quickly, quickly very quickly runs the little mouse.
Quickly, quickly very quickly round about the house.

>> HEATHER: That’s a tickly naughty little mouse isn’t it.

>> VIRGINIA: That was fun lots of tickles.  A lot of our rhymes have tickles it’s nice to have a nice touch and tickle time.

Now I’ve got a good rhyme coming up called 'Clap Hands'. This is a great one to do when we’re changing nappies. We can clap hands and knock knees and tap heels and have lots of nice face to face time as well. Here we go are you ready?

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Clap your hands together like this, clap your hands together like this.
Clap your hands together like this, oh clap your little hands.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Knock your knees together like this, knock your knees together like this.
Knock your knees together like this, oh knock your little knees.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Tap your heels together like this, tap your heels together like this.
Tap your heels together like this, oh tap your little heels.

>> HEATHER: Back to clapping.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Clap your hands together like this, clap your hands together like this.
Clap your hands together like this, oh clap your little hands.

>>VIRGINIA: Clap hands bubers. Oh aren’t they clever to learn that, well done.

>> HEATHER: Have we got a little train song, a little choo choo train?

>> VIRGINIA: Is it choo choo time?  Here we go.

>> TOGETHER: Choo, choo, choo the train runs down the track.
Choo, choo, choo and then it runs right back.

>> VIRGINIA: I’m going to do it again, maybe I’ll use my legs this time.

>> HEATHER: Repetition is a great thing, let’s repeat this song.

>> TOGETHER: Choo, choo, choo the train runs down the track.
Choo, choo, choo and then it runs right back.
Choo, choo, choo, toot, toot!

>> HEATHER: Very good that’s lovely.

>> VIRGINIA: That’s fun.

>> HEATHER: Do you know the song about Mother Duck and her three little ducklings?

>> VIRGINIA: It gets sad and then it gets happy again.

>> HEATHER: That’s good to know.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Three little ducks went out one day, over the hills and far away.
Mother Duck said quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only two little ducks came back.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Two little ducks went out one day, over the hills and far away.
Mother Duck said quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only one little duck came back.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: One little duck went out one day, over the hills and far away.
Mother Duck said quack, quack, quack, quack.
But none of the three little ducks came back.

>> VIRGINIA: Oh dear what’s she going to do?

>> HEATHER: It’s very sad.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Sad Mother Duck went out one day, over the hills and far away.
Mother Duck said quack, quack, quack, quack.
And all of the three little ducks came back.

>> HEATHER: Do some quacking…quack, quack, quack.

>> VIRGINIA:  Hooray... quack, quack, quack.  Oh they’re all saying hello to each other again. That’s a lovely happy ending.

>> HEATHER: Very good they’re all happy.  Shall we pop babies up on our laps.

>> VIRGINIA: On our laps.

>> HEATHER: So that we can start doing… we’ll do some rowing and some movement songs.

>> VIRGINIA: Can we start with 'Row the Boat'?

>> HEATHER: That’s a good one to start with.

>> VIRGINIA: Ok, here we go.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily life is but a dream.
Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.
If you see a crocodile don’t forget to scream... aghhhhhhh!

>> HEATHER: Get your arms and legs in the boat and be safe.

>> VIRGINIA: All safe, all better.

>> HEATHER: Are we still in our boat?

>> VIRGINIA: Still in our boat. Can we start with a sailboat?  You know our sailboat song.  Here we go.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: I am a little sailboat, a sailboat, a sailboat,
I am a little sailboat I sail across the sea.

>>TOGETHER [singing]: I am a little rowboat, a rowboat, a rowboat,
I am a little rowboat I row across the sea.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: I am a little motorboat, a motorboat, a motorboat,
I am a little motorboat I race across the sea.

>> VIRGINIA: Oh lots of fun, I’ll even clap my hands again.

>> HEATHER: Let’s get off the boat, shall we get on a horsey now?

>> VIRGINIA: A horsey?  Here we go…ready?

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up horsey.
Giddy up, giddy up, go go, go!
Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up horsey.
Giddy up, giddy up whoaaaaaaaaa!

>>VIRGINIA: Oh lots of fun on mummies knees.

>>TOGETHER [singing]: Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn’t put Humpty together again.

>> HEATHER: Back up on your wall Humpty here we go.

>> VIRGINIA: Sing it again?

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn’t put Humpty together again.

>> VIRGINIA: Back up on your wall.

>> HEATHER: Humpty’s ok.

>> VIRGINIA: He’s all better, all better.

>> HEATHER: Shall we keep on going up?

>> VIRGINIA: Up?

>> HEATHER: Up above the wall?

>> VIRGINIA: Right up.

>> HEATHER: Oh my goodness.

>> VIRGINIA: Oh mums this is fun. Are you ready? Here we go.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: We’re going up, we’re going up, as high as we can go.
We’re going down, we’re going down, we’re going way down low.
Up, up, up, up, up, up, up, down, down, down, down, down.

>> VIRGINIA: Oh I hope your little ones enjoyed that.

>> HEATHER: Whilst we were up there did we see anything?

>> VIRGINIA: I saw a star.

>> HEATHER: Something special?

>> VIRGINIA: I saw a twinkly star.

>> HEATHER: Can you get your twinkly stars out?  Here we go twinkle fingers.

>> TOGETHER [singing]: Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are.
Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are.
