>> KERRI: Hi everyone. I’m Kerri from the Mt Ommaney Library. As you can see all the toys and staff have been looking after the house until you can come back.

In the meantime, we’re going to do a special 'active' Toddler Time today. There’s going to be no sitting down. We’re going to be up and moving the whole time.

So, I’m going to need you to get some things from around the house to do this Toddler Time session. The first thing I’m going to need you to find is a special favourite toy. So, I’ve brought my toy lion in today. Roar!

The other thing you’ll need to find is a couple of scarves. If you don’t have any scarves you could maybe use a pillowcase or a tea towel. You just need something to wave around like this.

The other thing you’ll need is a drum. So, if you don’t have a drum at home you could use a hard-covered book like this or you could maybe use a paper plate. Just something you could use as a drum banging it like this.

Ok, so you may need some time to get that so feel free to press pause now.

Are you back? Ok so we’re going to start our session with our Acknowledgement to Country.

Here is the land. Here is the sky. Here are my friends. And here am I.

So, our first song’s going to be 'Hokey Pokey'. So, you need to get your left hand ready. Here we go.

[singing]: You put your left hand in. You put your left hand out.
You put your left hand in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around.
That’s what it’s all about.

[singing]: You put your right hand in. You put your right hand out.
You put your right hand in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around.
That’s what it’s all about.

Your left foot now. Here we go.

[singing]: You put your left foot in. You put your left foot out.
You put your left foot in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around.
That’s what it’s all about.

[singing]: You put your right foot in. You put your right foot out.
You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around.
That’s what it’s all about.

Now you’ve got to put your head in. Here we go.

[singing]: You put your head in. You put your head out.
You put your head in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around.
That’s what it’s all about.

Now you’ve got to put your whole self in. So, you’ve got to do a really big jump like this.

[singing]: You put your whole self in. You put your whole self out.
You put your whole self in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn around.
That’s what it’s all about.

Very good work with that first song. So, our next song is going to be our party freeze game. So how we do this one is when I say dance you’ve got to dance and when I say freeze you’ve got to freeze stop.

So, ready? So, the first one we’re going to be dancing. Here we go…

[singing]: Dancing dancing all around. Dancing dancing dancing. Dancing any way you please but stop when I say freeze.

Are you frozen? Next one we’re going to be jumping. Here we go.

[singing]: Jumping jumping all around. Jumping jumping jumping. Jumping any way you please but stop when I say freeze.

The next one is clapping. Here we go.

[singing]: Clapping clapping all around. Clapping clapping clapping. Clapping any way you please but stop when I say freeze.

The next one is twirling. Here we go.

[singing]: Twirling twirling all around. Twirling twirling twirling. Twirling any way you please but stop when I say freeze.

We get to finish with dancing again. Here we go.

[singing]: Dancing dancing all around. Dancing dancing dancing. Dancing any way you please but stop when I say freeze.

Ok very good work with that song.   Ok our next song is going to be 'Row your boat'. And we’re to use our favourite toys to do row your boat with this one. Here we go I’ve got lion all ready. Here we go.

[singing]: Row row row your boat gently down the steam.
If you see a crocodile don’t forget to scream. Ahhhh!

Ok with the next one we’re going to be rowing to the ocean shore. If you see a lion don’t forget to roar. Here we go.

[singing]: Row row row your boat to the ocean shore.
If you see a lion don’t forget to roar. Roar!

Next we’re going to be rowing gently up the lake. If you hear a hissing sound it’s probably a snake. Here we go.

[singing]: Row row row your boat gently up the lake.
If you hear a hissing sound it’s probably a snake.

Next one we’re going to row gently in the bath. If you see a spider don’t forget to laugh.

[singing]: Row row row your boat gently in the bath.
If you see a spider don’t forget to laugh. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Now in our last one we’re going to rock our boat. Here we go.

[singing]: Rock rock rock your boat. Rock it to and fro.
Wibbly wobbly wibbly wobbly into the water you go. Ahhhh!

Oh no. Poor lion and I fell into the water.

Ok our next song we’re going to use our scarves. So it sounds like 'London Bridge is Falling Down' but we’re going to sing some different words to it. So we’re going to go like this…

[singing]: Wave your scarf up and down. Up and down. Up and down.
Wave your scarf up and down. Wave your scarf.

Next we’re going to go left and right.

[singing]: Wave your scarf left and right. Left and right. Left and right.
Wave your scarf left and right. Wave your scarf.

Now we’re going to go round and round like this.

[singing]: Wave your scarf round and round. Round and round. Round and round.
Wave your scarf round and round. Wave your scarf.

The last one we’re going to go fast and slow. Here we go.

[singing]: Wave your scarf fast and slow. Fast and slow. Fast and slow.
Wave your scarf fast and slow. Wave your scarf.

Lovely work. Ok our next song we’re going to use our drum. So, this was my drum. And we’re going to be banging it different ways. So, we’re just banging it normally first. Here we go.

[singing]: I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
Keeping in time and sounding a treat.
I play a little drum I play it on the beat.
I play and play and play and play and stop.

Next we get to play it softly. Here we go.

[singing]: I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
Keeping in time and sounding a treat.
I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
I play and play and play and play and stop.

Next one’s loudly. Here we go.

[singing]: I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
Keeping in time and sounding a treat.
I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
I play and play and play and play and stop.

Next one we’re going to do slowly. Here we go.

[singing]: I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
Keeping in time and sounding a treat.
I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
I play and play and play and play and stop.

Next we’re going to do it quickly. Ready?

[singing]: I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
Keeping in time and sounding a treat.
I have a little drum and I play it on the beat.
I play and play and play and play and stop.

Very good work with your drums. So, that was our last song.

So, just a little message for parents or carers. Kids learn very well learning words if they repeat them many times so feel free to play these videos again if you need. So, our last goodbye song.

[singing]: Now it’s time to say goodbye. Say goodbye. Say goodbye. Now it’s time to say goodbye. We’ll see you all quite soon.

Don’t forget to wash your hands. Bye everyone!
