About this hall

Changes to community hall capacity

Council’s community halls are required to ensure there are no more than 40 people gathered together unless the hirer undertakes their activity in accordance with the COVID Safe Framework.

This requirement ensures that all community halls operate in accordance with current health directives from the Queensland Government for gatherings.

The New Inala Civic or Community Centre is available for hire on weekdays and weekends.

Located on the corner of Corsair Avenue and Wirraway Parade, the hall's features include kitchen, piano, disabled access and car parks.

This community hall has on-premise disability parking and an accessible toilet.

The commercial hire rate applies to all businesses and government organisations (hall and meeting rooms). Community groups charging fees for their events and or an entry fee are also subject to paying the commercial rate.

Weekend function
All bookings at this hall on Fridays and Saturdays from 2pm to 12am are charged the weekend function hire rates. Parties and similar events such as wedding receptions and community gatherings are permitted during the weekend function hire period. A minimum of two security guards are required for weekend function hire events and must be Brisbane City Council contracted security guards. Contact the Community Halls Team for information about security fees. Additional bonds apply.


Bond - low risk
Medium and low bond both depend on the number of people, and will apply to events with no alcohol, time of day e.g. children’s party early afternoon.

Bond - high risk
Applies to all evening events. Events with security guards, birthday parties, engagement parties, wedding receptions or any other event having alcohol.

Advanced AV hire
If advanced AV hire is required, a daily rate applies. Advanced AV hire is available at Hamilton, Sandgate, Wynnum Community Centre, Wynnum Municipal Hall.

Key bond
Fully refunded on return of all keys.

Public holiday fee
Community halls are available for hire on public holidays. All normal fees and charges apply, plus an additional fee to cover public holiday salary costs for cleaning services.
