There are many Brisbane City Council managed community halls and facilities available to hire for a variety of purposes including weddings and receptions, exhibitions, business functions, plays and musicals, club and group meetings, dances, conferences and cultural and religious events. Council also has sports fields such as Sunnybank Community Centre Sports Fields for hire.

Changes to community hall capacity

From Friday 16 October, hirers of Council’s community halls are required to ensure there are no more than 40 people gathered together unless the hirer undertakes their activity in accordance with the COVID Safe Framework.

This requirement ensures that all community halls operate in accordance with current health directives from the Queensland Government for gatherings.
