A well-run event can be enjoyable for everyone and achieve a great result for your organisation. A poorly-run event however can cause your organisation more harm than good.
Visit event planning resources for more information on planning and considerations when scheduling an event.
If you are planning an event, you may need an Entertainment Event Permit.
These permits apply to any venue open to the public, whether or not you charge an entry fee. You may also need related event approvals for both small and large events.
An understanding of Council's requirements for event preparation, safety and notification to stakeholders is essential before you start planning your event.
Visit events and festivals for more information on all event and festival approvals and permits and useful event planning resources.
For events or festivals on lease sites, contact Council’s Festival and Events Liaison Officer on 133 BNE (133 263) for specific advice. You should make contact with this officer regardless of the number of people expected to attend the event.
Council’s Festival and Events Liaison Officer will coordinate Council’s assessment of the proposal and will advise if you need an Entertainment Event Permit.
To receive an entertainment venues and events permit information kit, phone Council on 07 3403 8888.
