Stones Corner Library upgrade

Council has commenced works to upgrade Stones Corner Library.

The project will take place at the existing Stones Corner Library site, located at 280 Logan Road, Greenslopes.

About the project

The works will include:

  • reconfiguration of existing spaces inside the library to create a new reading lounge, children's library and more efficient back-of-house area
  • an internal refresh of the interiors with new painting, flooring, lighting, drinking fountain, furniture and shelving
  • replacement of existing windows with new double-glazed windows
  • painting of the outside of the building
  • upgrade handrails on the external ramp and stairs.

Construction impacts

Safe access to the library will be maintained throughout construction, with some internal barricading around construction works.

The library is expected to remain open and operational with some reduced services during construction. Council will provide advice notification of out-of-hours works, noisy works, and/or access changes to local residents and patrons.

Library patrons will need to find on-street parking in surrounding streets during construction.

Construction timing

Construction will take place between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Sunday, weather permitting.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the local community during this work.

The project is expected to be completed by late 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting.
