Brisbane City Council is dedicated to a liveable city, creating more leisure options and better facilities and venues for all ages to enjoy. Council libraries provide a wide range of services including book clubs, reading programs, computer training, events and workshops. Visit your local library to join, renew or borrow books, and use the many resources on offer.
Highlights

Library catalogue
Search for books, music, ebooks, magazines, movies and more. Databases, online encyclopaedias and dictionaries are also available through the catalogue.

Borrowing e-books
Library members can access digital content via the online library catalogue, eLibCat, to find e-books, audiobooks, digital magazines, music and digital films.

Joining a library
Library membership is free to Council ratepayers and anyone who lives, works or studies in Brisbane.

Renewing your book
You can renew Council library items in person, over the phone, through the library catalogue (eLibCat) or the BNELibraries app.

Hiring meeting rooms
Council has well-equipped meeting rooms available for hire in most libraries.

Brisbane City Archives
Brisbane City Archives is located in Moorooka and is open to the public from 9am-2pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (excluding public holidays).

Summer Reading
Readers of all ages and interests can get involved with Brisbane City Council libraries' Summer Reading program on from 10 December 2022 until 22 January 2023.
