About the project

Council has completed construction of a new skate park, offering a dedicated space that caters for skaters of all ages and abilities, from beginner through to intermediate. The facility also provides opportunities for roller blading, BMX and scooter riding. This new facility is part of Council’s commitment to create new lifestyle and leisure opportunities and deliver vibrant, liveable communities.

This new skate park is a street style facility with ledges and kerbs, and is situated next to the existing basketball half court.

The Queensland Government provided $1.5 million to Council to upgrade Paddington and Inala Skate facilities and develop skate facilities at Ashgrove and Grovely to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities.

Project timing

Construction started in June 2018 and was completed in early August 2018.

Council would like to thank residents and park users for their patience while these works were undertaken.
