Booker Place Park skate park upgrade - Bellbowrie
Brisbane City Council is pleased to announce that Booker Place Park skate park will be upgraded to ensure the local community and skate park users can continue to enjoy this important facility.
|Address||Sugarwood Street, Bellbowrie|
|Project outcomes||Skate park upgrade|
|Latest update||Have your say opportunity|
About the project
The skate park is located within Booker Place Park, close to the Sugarwood Street car park. The current skate park is popular with young people and families and the new design will encourage new uses to learn how to skate.
In 2020, Council undertook consultation with the local community on the layout of the new proposed skate park and future projects in the park. Feedback from the community indicated support for the new facility. Council incorporated community feedback into initial designs to create improved recreation opportunities for the local community.
Following community consultation, Council has developed a skate park concept design.
The new skate facility will include a beginner street section with a choice of skateable elements. The upgrade will be constructed in 2022 and will be approximately 300 square metres. The existing skate bowl will remain open for community use until future stages can be planned.
