Brisbane City Council started works to construct a new amenities block at The Lake Parklands, Forest Lake in mid-May 2019.

About the project
Council is constructing a new accessible amenities block at The Lake Parklands, Forest Lake.
The project will involve:
- constructing a new toilet block with one unisex toilet and one ambulant toilet
- footpath works to link existing paths in the park
- installing lighting along the new footpaths within the park.
In order to undertake these works, Council has identified that some trees will need to be removed. All work will be carried out in accordance with the relevant environmental guidelines and impacts will be offset in accordance with Council policies and relevant legislative requirements.
These works are part of Council’s commitment to enhance the parks network by developing new parks and improving existing parks.

Construction started in mid-May 2019 and is expected to be complete by late June 2019. Works are taking place Monday to Friday, from 7am to 5pm.
Some areas of The Lake Parklands will be closed during this time to allow construction to occur. Signage will be in place to advise visitors.
