About the project

Brisbane City Council is pleased to advise that works to improve the amenity of Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park and enhance the attraction for local residents and visitors will start from May 2020, weather and site conditions permitting.

Council is committed to ensuring Brisbane's parks and public open spaces support the city's image as an international travel destination, providing a broad range of recreation and leisure opportunities.

Project details

The Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park improvement works include:

  • upgrading turf
  • replacing footpath surfaces
  • replacing old bollards with new ones
  • installing a new power switchboard.

Council will also be undertaking additional landscape works at this park to further enhance the attraction of the park.

Impacts during construction

Council will endeavour to keep the shared paths open. There may be occasions when the shared paths may be temporarily closed for upgrade works to be undertaken. Pedestrians and cyclists are requested to take care when travelling through the area during the works.

Works are expected to start in May 2020 and are anticipated to be completed in late June 2020, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Construction will take place between 6.30am-6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Council has committed to keeping the community informed about construction and will provide advance notification of any out-of-hours work.

A minor laydown area will be established in and around the park and Council will make every effort to reduce impacts to park users and surrounding community members. Once complete, the area will be reinstated to its original condition.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the local community during this work.

We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate your patience during this time.
