Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve project

Brisbane City Council is pleased to announce that works to upgrade walking trails at the Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve, located off Shire Road in Mount Gravatt, are expected to start in mid-January 2020, weather and site conditions permitting.

Council is creating more to see and do in a clean and green Brisbane, with more opportunities to enjoy Brisbane's beautiful climb and connect with family and friends in the places that make our city great.

About the project

Improvement works include:

  • upgrade of the Acacia Track
  • installing new stairs at Federation Track
  • improvements to the reserve entry, including a new pedestrian path (stage two)
  • enhanced facilities at Gertrude Petty Place picnic area and carpark (stage three).

During construction, each of the tracks will be closed. Signage will be installed to notify the community of the closures. The local community may experience increased noise, dust and truck movements in the area.

Once the works are completed, the Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve project will provide family-friendly recreation opportunities for the community to enjoy.

Project timing

Construction works at Acacia Track will be undertaken from mid-January 2020 for approximately two weeks.

Construction works at Federation Track will be undertaken from late January 2020 for approximately two weeks.

All project timeframes are subject to weather and site conditions.

Construction will take place between 6.30am-6pm, Monday to Saturday. Council is committed to keeping the community informed of construction in your area and will provide advance notification regarding future stages of project works and any particularly disruption out-of-hours work.
