Brisbane City Council is pleased to announce that the landfill remediation works on a section of the Hendra Pony Club, Nundah are now complete.

About the project

The remediation works provided increased environmental controls and have rehabilitated a section of the Hendra Pony Club landfill site improving user safety.

The project involved:

  • constructing a trench on the southern side of the site to treat potential acid sulphate soils
  • earthworks including impact rolling to compact closed landfill
  • removal of waste
  • removal of up to 15 trees and associated offsets
  • levelling and capping the site with new, clean soil
  • installing turf.

Council would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience and understanding while these important works were undertaken.

Project timing

Works started in late January 2018 and were completed in early September 2018. The turf has now established and fencing has been removed.
