Sherwood Arboretum

Sherwood Arboretum is part of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens collection. Officially opened on World Forestry Day on 21 March 1925, this heritage-listed site was established for Australian native trees.

The Sherwood Arboretum covers an area of 15 hectares and contains approximately 1100 trees, representing approximately 250 species. The site features a number of botanical collections including riverine, dry rainforest, dry sclerophyll, fig avenue, freshwater wetlands, and the main attraction being a grand avenue of 72 kauri pines.

Entry to the arboretum is free. Dogs are permitted.

The Friends of Sherwood Arboretum Association Inc. (FOSA) is a not-for-profit, voluntary community association. It has worked in partnership with Council since 1986.
