Guyatt Park improvement project - St Lucia
Brisbane City Council has delivered a new outdoor fitness challenge course and refurbished the existing junior playground in Guyatt Park, St Lucia.
Council is creating more to see and do in a clean and green Brisbane, with more opportunities to enjoy Brisbane's beautiful climate and connect with family and friends in the places that make our city great.

About the project
Council has enhanced and diversified the recreational opportunities throughout this popular green space, to support healthy lifestyles and ensure the facilities cater to the broader community.
This project supports increased activation of Guyatt Park and has provided more opportunities for outdoor activity.
The Guyatt Park improvement works included:
- replacement of the existing junior playground equipment (near Hiron Street and the Brisbane River) to bring the playground to a modern standard; and
- a new fitness challenge course to provide new athletic opportunities for ages 12 and above.
This project is part of Council's commitment to enhancing and maintaining more than 2100 parks across the city.
Construction started in April 2020 and was completed in July 2020.
This project delivered increased activation of Guyatt Park and a vibrant, liveable space that builds on the existing well-used facilities, by providing more opportunities for outdoor activity.
