Project background

Brisbane City Council provides dog off-leash areas to enable dogs to run, exercise and socialise leash-free with other dogs and dog park visitors. The facilities within Shaftesbury Street Park dog off-leash area will be refurbished however a temporary dog off-leash area has been created for the duration of the works.

About the project 

Council has commenced refurbishment of the dog off-leash area within Shaftesbury Street Park dog off-leash area.

Works to be undertaken include:

  • upgrade to all entrances
  • installation of new seats
  • removal of a small shelter
  • carry out turf remediation.

Project timing

Works to refurbish the dog off leash area commenced on 8 April 2019 and will be complete in early June 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting.
