About the project

The works for stage 2 of the Wynnum Foreshore lighting upgrade project includes:

  • installing conduits and electrical infrastructure
  • removing and replacing existing lights with LED lights
  • replacing the existing light poles with marine-grade, stainless steel, painted light poles, where required.

The Wynnum Foreshore lighting upgrade is part of Council’s commitment to keeping Brisbane clean and green to make our city liveable and sustainable for the future.

Project impacts

Throughout construction, the local community can expect:

  • construction-related noise, dust and vibration
  • minor tree trimming to enable the installation of the LED lights.

The works will take place near the existing foreshore pathway and may result in temporary access changes. Make sure you follow on-site signage. Safe pedestrian and cyclist access around the site and along pathways will be maintained throughout construction.

Project timing

Construction will take place between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, weather permitting. Council is committed to keeping you informed of construction in your area and will provide advance notification of out-of-hours activities.

The project is expected to be completed by late 2019.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the local community during this work. Advance notification of particularly noisy works or major access changes, including driveway disruptions, will be provided to properties within the works area.

Project benefits

The project will improve lighting for all foreshore park users.
