Brisbane’s best BMX and skate parks

Brisbane skate park

Whatever your wheel of choice, you can skateboard, blade, BMX or scooter to 20 BMX parks and 37 skate parks across the city and enjoy the great outdoors while seeking wheel-based thrills.

BMX bandits

Perfect your free wheeling, flairs and flat spins at Council’s BMX parks consisting of dirt tracks for all abilities, with some offering built-up dirt hills and various types of jumps for the more experienced thrill seeker. You can also learn to ride, practice new tricks, improve your bike skills, or get ready for BMX racing with free classes and workshops on offer.

Council has recently developed the largest BMX facility of its kind in Australia and Brisbane’s first asphalt hybrid pump-track facility on the corner of Telegraph Road and Lemke Road, Fitzgibbon. This will be complemented by another new BMX facility at Monier Road Park, Darra, which is set for completion mid-2019.

Later skater

Get your skateboard down to a Council skate park with facilities on offer for people of all ages to feel welcome, learn new skills and get active and healthy. Recent major upgrades to a number of skate parks across Brisbane, (including Inala, Murarrie and Paddington) and new skate parks in Ashgrove, Keperra and Balmoral mean there’s more to see and do for skateboarders than ever before. Plus, if you get bored of doing 180s and board slides, you can ride your scooter or BMX at many skate parks too.

Safety and etiquette

Remember, it’s fun and games until someone gets hurt. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing including sneakers or closed-in footwear and the right safety gear (including a helmet), no matter your wheel of choice. Be aware of people around you and leave a first aid kit in the car for the odd spill. Don’t forget a bike repair kit and wheel pump too in case you lose air.
