

It's the year to be bold! Immerse yourself in the vivid, interactive and fun festivities of this year's Brisbane Festival. On until 23 September, here is our list of unmissable events.
Riverfire
Whether you're watching from the banks of the Brisbane River, a rooftop terrace, or from the comfort of your couch, the 2023 Riverfire by Australia Retirement Trust is an event not to be missed. On 2 September at 7pm, Brisbane City's skies will light up with an explosion of colour accompanied by a synchronised soundtrack. It's a spectacular way to kickstart the excitement of the 23-day-long festival.

Lightscape
Lightscape is an internationally-renowned installation in the City Botanic Gardens. From neon roots to light-filled canopies, this immersive, multi-sensory experience is suitable for all ages. Following a 2-kilometre path of light, colour and sounds, it is a breathtaking experience that runs through until 8 October.

Brisbane Serenades
Coming back after a successful year last year, Brisbane Serenades returns to bring Queensland's best classical, choral and world-fusion groups to 23 Brisbane suburbs. There will be performances in parks and venues near you every Saturday and Sunday of the festival. Don't miss the closing concert at Victoria Park, All Together Now, on Saturday 23 September, where the whole city is invited to sing and dance to celebrate the end of another spectacular festival.

Cirque Bon Bon
If you're interested in a thrilling and mind-bending act, Cirque Bon Bon is a must watch! For 4 nights only, the South Bank Piazza will be transformed into a cauldron of excitement as contortionists, acrobats and dancers perform a show for all ages. This expertly choreographed performance is 70 minutes of electrifying action that should not be missed.

Stunt Double
Take a seat on the set of a 1970s action-packed film where stunt doubles must perform death-defying acts while actors reap the glory. On for 4 nights only, see a new angle of Aussie action flicks in the dance theatre work, Stunt Double, at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Due to the inclusion of coarse language, partial nudity and adult themes, this show is recommended for 15+.
